The View co-hosts discussed hot topics and interview Anne Hathaway and Lauren Conrad.

On June 18, 2009, the co-hosts of The View talked about a reality television melt down, politicians who cheated, PETA’s remarks about President Obama, and more. One of the stars in the Twelfth Night, Anne Hathaway, and reality star, Lauren Conrad, discussed their current projects with the women of The View.

Hot Topics on The View

The co-hosts discussed a reality television melt down on She’s Got the Look. The show is about models who are over the age of 35, and one of the models became upset during an elimination round. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is known for her time on Survivor, said that having cameras on a person twenty-four hours a day creates pressure; however, adults choose to go on these shows and put themselves in these situations.

According to The View, John Edwards said that he doesn’t care about restoring his reputation after cheating on his wife. The women wondered if one has to be a good husband to be a good politician. Elisabeth said that it’s hard to trust someone who creates deceit in his inner circle. Joy Behar said that she doesn’t want politicians who cheat on their spouses to throw family values in her face.

PETA believes that President Obama made a controversial move in a recent interview. President Obama killed a fly during the interview after it landed on his arm. PETA said that they wished that President Obama hadn’t killed the fly. One of the co-hosts said that he was just doing what everybody else would have done.

The co-hosts of The View discussed an 18 year old woman who claimed that she asked for three stars to be tattooed on her face, and she fell asleep while she was getting the tattoos. She reported that she woke up and had 56 stars on her face. Whoopi Goldberg reported that the 18 year old was high if she didn’t feel someone putting tattoos on her face.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is performing in the Shakespearian play, Twelfth Night, in Central Park. She discussed this project with the women of The View. Anne is playing a girl who pretends to be a boy. She reported that she has to stand and walk differently, and Anne has on stage kiss with another woman. She said that a raccoon followed her out onto the stage during her first performance. Anne confirmed rumors that she was going to do another project with actor, Jake Gyllenhaal.

Lauren Conrad from The Hills

Known as the star of the reality show on MTV, The Hills, Lauren Conrad discussed leaving the show and writing her new novel. After five seasons of The Hills, Lauren said that she wasn’t happy and made the decision to leave the show. She said that it wasn’t hard to say goodbye.

The co-hosts of The View asked Lauren about the apology from Spencer Pratt that he recently took back. Lauren said that the phone call was staged and she never received an apology from Spencer Pratt. They asked her what made her decide to go to Heidi and Spencer’s wedding, and Lauren said that it was a few hours of her time and she didn’t want to regret not attending.

Lauren discussed her novel, L.A. Candy [HaperCollins, 2009]. She reported that she has always wanted to write a book. Lauren said that the book was inspired by her life and her experience of being behind the scenes of a reality show. She announced that her ultimate goal is to produce.
