Edie Falco and Nia Vardalos on The ViewCo-hosts Discuss Hot Topics and Interview CelebritiesRecently on The View, Edie Falco from Nurse Jackie and Nia Vardalos from My Life in Ruins discussed their current projects with The View co-hosts.
The women from The View discussed hot topics, talked to Whoopi Goldberg who was in London, and interviewed Edie Falco and Nia Vardalos. Hot Topics on The View The women discussed the antics of Sasha Baron Cohen at the MTV movie awards. He was lowered down into the audience with a nude bottom directly above Eminem, and Eminem got up and stormed out. The women reported that Eminem was wearing a microphone and believe that it was stunt to get publicity. Lisa Ling was on Larry King Live the night before, and they showed a clip where Lisa is talking to her sister. Her sister is being held captive in North Korea, and Lisa advised her to take a deep breath and meditate. Also, Barbara reported that the Brazilian air force found debris floating in the ocean from the missing Air France flight. The day before the co-hosts of The View interviewed Paris Hilton. Barbara imitated Paris’ sexy walk onto the stage. Joy said that she said to Paris Hilton that she looked like she had lost weight, and Paris thanked her. They discussed women and weight issues. Whoopi Goldberg was in London for the premiere of the show, Sister Act, and talked to the other co-hosts about “Sister Act” via satellite. She reported that she was nervous, and they showed a clip from the show. Edie Falco from Nurse Jackie The star of “Nurse Jackie,” which premieres Monday, June 8th on Showtime, was a guest on the show. She plays a nurse addicted to pain killers who is straightforward and passionate. Edie stated that now that she is getting older she cares a little bit less about being liked. She discussed the weight that she put on for the HBO hit, “The Sopranos.” Nia Vardalos from My Life in Ruins The co-hosts of the view interviewed the star from My Life in Ruins, Nia Vardalos who plays a travel agent in Greece. Nia reported that this is a feel good movie that’s great for a date night, and it opens on June 5, 2009. The women asked Nia about her forty pound weight loss, and she said that her doctor told her that she needed to lose weight in 2007 due to high blood sugar. Nia talked about her daughter that she adopted when the child was three, and said that there are many older children available for adoption in the United States.
