Martha Stewart's Birthday Show700th Episode of Martha Stewart
On May 20, 2009, Martha Stewart hosted her 700th episode with a live audience and announced the topic of the show, birthdays.
The excited audience was extra special, because all members were celebrating their birthdays in the month of May. Martha began the show by showing off her pompoms that can be hung inside or outside for parties and events. The kits are available at Michael’s, and she gave a kit to each member of the audience. Lemon Meringue CupcakesThe first treat presented to the audience was lemon meringue cupcakes that looked mouth-watering. An audience member assisted Martha in making the cupcakes which included making a batter, a lemon curd, and seven minute frosting. Martha used a KitchenAid mixer to make the batter and gave each member of the audience their own special edition KitchenAid mixer. Paper Flowers and Treat StandEloise Corr Danch showed Martha Stewart how to make beautiful paper poppies. These flowers, made out of heavy cardstock, are perfect for decorating parties and events. If someone is going to attempt to make these flowers, they need patience and time. Each petal has to be cut out individually and then they are glued together with a hot glue gun. The best things about these decorations are that they’re extremely budget-friendly and can be used more than once. Martha demonstrated how to make a treat stand using environmentally-friendly plates and cups made out of bamboo. She glued the individual cups and plates together to make this inexpensive cupcake or treat stand. Anyone can make this simple project by following the steps outlined in this article. Lollipop MoldsDominic Palazzolo taught the audience how to make molds out of jewelry, craft items, and magnets in order to make adorable lollipops. They made one lollipop mold from a magnet of a dog’s head and one from a flower jewel that Dominic found at a craft store. These lollipops would be a great addition to any child’s birthday or fun party favors for adults. Martha ended the program by showing the audience a few pictures of pets celebrating their birthdays. She reminded the viewers that they can send in photographs of their dogs’ celebrations through the pet channel of the Martha Stewart website. The winner will get a year’s supply of Purina One. Don’t miss the next episode of Martha Stewart which will include a recipe for upside-down cake, eyeball t-shirts, a discussion around healthy pet food options and more.
