The View co-hosts discussed hot topics, enjoyed two performances from The Black Eyed Peas, and got advice from Family Fun’s contributing editor, Deb Geigis Berry, about ways to enjoy the summer on a budget. Hot Topics on The View Sherri Shepherd announced that another woman has gotten in between her and her son. The other woman was Dora the Explorer. Joy Behar asked if her son knows that she isn’t real, and Sherri said she didn’t know. Whoopi Goldberg asked her what she’ll do when he gets a girlfriend. The View co-hosts discussed Jon and Kate Plus 8. Kate Gosselin recently took a vacation with her kids and without her husband. Elisabeth wondered if people would be alright with the situation if it was the husband taking a vacation without his wife. Sherri said that the couple shouldn’t be spending anymore time apart. Susan Lucci and Cameron Mathison made a brief appearance on The View to discuss the topic of women cougars. Susan said that she does not like the label, cougar, and believes that it refers to a predator or pursuer. Currently, on All My Children Susan Lucci’s character is dating a much younger character played by Cameron Mathison. The Black Eyed PeasBefore the Black Eyed Peas performed two songs, The View co-hosts interviewed them about their new album, The End. They said that the title of their album symbolizes many things including the end of rumors that the group is splitting up and the end of the music industry. The Black Eyed Peas said that they recorded 100 songs for their album and narrowed it down to 15. The co-hosts asked Fergie about her marriage to Josh Duhamel, and she said that the she tried really hard to keep it a secret. Fergie said the trick to keeping it under wraps was her wedding planner, Mindy Weiss. Budget-Friendly Family FunFamily Fun’s contributing editor, Deb Geigis Berry, discussed ways that families can have a lot of fun this summer and stay on budget. Deb showed two inexpensive craft projects that families can enjoy. The first craft project entailed painting a life-size portrait on a sheet and the second craft involved making marbleized paper. Deb also showed the viewers how to make spider webs out of wooden skewers and wire and mushrooms out of clay. She encouraged families to have themed days, such as luau day, and to have game nights where they play board games together. On June 12, 2009, The View featured hot topics, The Black Eyed Peas, and budget-friendly family fun.
